This 1971 Pontiac GTO was built in December 1970 and was delivered new to Frank Woods Pontiac in Charlotte, North Carolina. The car resided in North Carolina and was refurbished under previous ownership before being acquired by the seller in 2016. It is one of 534 examples not optioned with the Judge package that were produced with the non-HO 455ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and it is finished in Canyon Copper over black vinyl.

Equipment includes a Cordova vinyl top, Rally Gauge package, front center console, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 14″ Rally II wheels, a dual exhaust system, dual exterior mirrors, rear speakers, and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo. Work since 2020 has consisted of a tune-up, a carburetor rebuild, and the replacement of the water pump and alternator. This GTO is offered with service records, refurbishment receipts, title history, a copy of the build sheet, PHS documentation, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Canyon Copper and features a black Cordova vinyl roof, bright rocker and wheel well moldings, a Ram Air hood with a hood-mounted tachometer, an Endura front bumper, a rear wing, and dual twin exhaust outlets. It is said to have undergone a refurbishment in 2006 that included a repaint, and the seller states that one front fender was replaced under previous ownership. The passenger side high beam headlamp was replaced in July 2021.

14″ Rally II wheels with polished lips are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires with raised white lettering. Equipment includes power steering as well as power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The removed rear drum brake components will accompany the car.

The 455ci V8 was rebuilt in 2006 by Bob Lane Auto Machine of Mount Holly, North Carolina, and is said to have been modified to Super Duty specifications including forged pistons and H-beam connecting rods. Work since 2020 has consisted of a tune-up, a carburetor rebuild, and the replacement of the water pump and alternator. The seller notes that a Pertronix electronic ignition conversion has been installed, and an oil change was completed in preparation for the sale.
